thedigger Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I have a George 1937 half penny error coin.Whilst seraching the internet today without any luck of trying to find names of coins, metals etc, i came across a site that listed error coins and all the different type of errors that could be found on coins.Could someone please try to explain a bit more about this coin (other than the poor condition) cheers all Quote
Chris Perkins Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I don't think that's an error. It looks like a normal coin that someone has squashed a bit, perhaps by leaving it on a railway line or something.....or in some kind of machine. Quote
Peckris Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Oh the fabulously rare George VI hammered halfpenny !!! Well, there were certainly steamrollers around until the 1970s? 1980s? Looks like this one got royally rollered. Quote

thedigger Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 oh wellSo this is NOT an error coin but asyou have all described one thats probably been run over either by a steam train or the 9.15 out of Euston Thanks for your input time and expertise on clearing this up for me.....Thought i had something of value there and i had only gone through 3 bags.cheers Quote
