Peckris Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Basically, if it's a mis-strike it would have a small value just for interest (bear in mind the number of these that were struck). You could try your luck on eBay. It wouldn't bring much, I would guess. However, it's a coin that's been planed flat on one side, it has no value except as a curio. Quote

Chris Perkins Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 And don't the blanks already have the rims on them before they are struck with the images? I say that because I have a couple of blanks with rims. Quote

I was hoping it would fetch about a tenner. I've just compared the width with another 2p and it is slightly thinner, though I know there are slight variations. So does this mean someone has planed it to try and palm it off as an error coin or is planed some sort of coin jargon? Chris Perkins Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I think it's more likely someone has planed it down just for something to do! British error coins are usually pretty good value (even cheap) so it wouldn't really be worth the effort to try and create one. Quote

Guest Coin :-) Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 How much is this worth? It barely has an edge lol Quote
Rob Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 It has a full edge, it's the rim that is partly missing. Value, not a lot over 2p. It is only slightly off centre, or a little bit more if not the correct weight and struck on the wrong flan, but I can't tell that from the image. Quote
