Test 3 (I'm giving up after this one)

Well i wouldn't pay extra for a lower grade 'celebrity' coin, i'd rather have the less well known BU one.

I would buy a BU coin but I would like it to have a pedigree. You never know, one day our coins may be worth more due to the fact that they have graced our cabinets!

Well, so would I, but I meant if I had two coins of the same grade I would rather have one with a pedigree (tried a new approach with this quoting thing)...

Well done william, also, you might one day become a fellow slanley or Nicholson so don't give up on it!

Yes, my third farthing might be sold for millions in the future, cos it graced the William cabinet ;) (still hasn't come yet Chris, maybe tomorrow...).

Have you ever heard of the Marshall collection that Spink are selling, Mashall is my surname! :P

The 1903 half penny in BU that I bought from Colin Cooke came today but no one was home when it arrived so I have to go and pick it up tommorrow :( . I hope it looks good when I do eventually get it! :D

Posted

I hope you do like it!

I just hope that none of my coins ever get lost in the post, especially this one, I'm desperate for it to arrive... :(

My coins from Mr Cooke were just dropped through the door I think although they were extremely well packaged.

I recieved the coin today from Colin. It's brilliant. One step closer to fulfilling my date run.

I also recieved mine today! :)

I find it funny the way he always uses cereal packaging to protect coins in the post. :P

Good, Good. Are you pleased with it?

Very pleased!

Posted

Yes, he does, I particularly like the fact that most of his coins have pictures...

Posted

Yes. It's good that he has a picture for most of his coins. I find that most dealers don't bother showing a photo of a coin priced less than £20.00.

Posted

Yeah, Colin Cooke only does it for the high grade ones :(

Posted

I think that's a shame beacuse he would probably get more business with more photo's (not that he isn't doing good at the moment). He even has an I.T specialist amoung his staff.

Posted

I don't mind buying without pictures from a reputable site - Cooke and Chris here go into quite a lot of detail with their pictureless coins and I'm not displeased when I receive them!

Posted

Thing is chaps, when you've got 100 coins to scan/photograph and you know you'll only get a fiver each for most of them, it can be a drag to scan them all, and it can be tempting to just scan the more expensive ones!

It's pretty labour intensive, so I can understand where Colin is coming from. And he probably has enough established customers that trust his grading enough to by the un illustrated coins, so probably doesn't especially need to make images of them.
