Chris Perkins Posted April 29, 2004 Author Posted April 29, 2004 I see Chris' radio appearances have earned a mention in the news section of the latest edition of Coin News Yes, I don't have my copy yet, but I just heard 10 mins ago from a numismatic author contact!I remember writing something to Carol at Token Publishing about the radio prog, because I was exciting about just having done the first programme and just wanted to tell her all about it. At the end I kind of dared here to put that in 'her' magazine! Two months later and there it is, under the headline 'A Star is Born', so I hear.Watch this space, I have something even bigger on the horizon and don't intend to peak just yet! Quote

william Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 I shall qoute the article that was in Coin News:A star is bornRecently Chris Perkins, manager of the fast growing collectors' website Predecimal.com, appeared with John Pilgrim on his local BBC Three Counties radio with a phone-in programme on coins and collectables that attracted some 250,000 listeners. The first programme was so popular that it was allowed to run over the following travel news. Now, despite the fact that Chris is actually based in Germany, he has been asked to make the programme a regular feature.Well done Chris!! Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 30, 2004 Author Posted April 30, 2004 Thanks William, I had'nt seen that yet!Free advertising, marvelous. Quote
Emperor Oli Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Yes muchas gracias, William. Was it a big bit or was it just tucked away in a corner? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted May 1, 2004 Author Posted May 1, 2004 I'm afraid i didn't get a chance to renew my latest ad with:'I have £100 to spend on coins this week'Or some such Coincraft spoof, but it's still top priority for the next one. I think there really needs to be less hard sell and stufiness in coin dealing. We need a little lightheartedness, humour and pehraps a little Rock 'n' Roll at the same time. I wonder if the Darkness would endorse me as their coin dealer of choice!!I can picture it now, an image of glam and spandex, with 'I want to spend £100 on coins this week'. 'Predecimal.com, coin dealer to 'The Darkness'! That sounds pretty funny, but I have certainly learn't that most coin collectors are not into trendy music, and that many coin collectors are young, so perhaps that would be a big market to tap into with 'Rock 'n' Roll Coin dealing' Quote
