Chris Perkins Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 It's because its very worn and only worth scrap value (around £7). They are very common in that condition, in fact the 1821 Secundo is the most common GeoIV crown.Truly brilliant ones will of course sell for more. Condition is the main factor for 'modern' British coins, always. Quote
Guest redcar Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Hi CHris, THank you for your comment, i actually thought the coin was in very good condition. Its just a bad photo??ThanksAndy Quote
scottishmoney Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 FWIW a better photo will help you sell the piece, also might want to rotate the image. Quote
Peter Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 AndyYour crown is reasonable as it seems free of large rim dings and bumps. However, even a bad photograh cannot conceal it is very worn and a filler piece for a collector at best (and as Chris said it is a common crown) I reckon you will get about £12...& NO I won't be bidding.
