Gary D Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I've just seen this and would really like it in my collection but I'm having doubts over it being genuine. The reverse looks worn on the high spots which for a rare coin seems wrong. It would never have been circulated and any ware would show bright through the matt surface. What do you think? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 It doesn't really matter how it looks in the image, you simply can't trust that an otherwise common proof is the matt version unless the seller is highly expert and offers some kind of guarantee. Quote
Hussulo Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Without any provenance or guarantee I wouldn't risk it Gary. I know there are bargains to be had out there and new discovery's to be made but there is also money to be lost in the gamble. I doubt it will be going cheap. Quote
