Bronze & Copper Collector Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Thisis my 1854 doubled date..... Quote
Bronze & Copper Collector Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 This is my 1854/3 Plain Trident. 4 over 3 in date. BMC 1505. Most purported 4/3 examples are spurious with the right and lower serifs joined to give an apparent curve of an underlying 3. The tell-tale evidence of a genuine 4 over 3 is the cross stroke of the top of the 3 which protrudes either side of the top of the angle of the 4. Quote
