Pinman,

The one on the right is a lead token, I often find these when detecting. I am lead to believe that they date about 17c and were used by the farmer to pay farmhands, who then exchanged the tokens for farm goods. Wages must be bad if you can't earn enough to get a coin of the realm, and have to be paid in home made lead tokens.

Some of the better examples have initials or even dates on them. If I get chance I iwll put some images up. They normally adopt a crossed or cartwheel pattern with raised dots in the segments. Due to them being simply made they are also normally uniface.

Oops should have been "led" to believe not "lead" no pun intended!!!

Hi Colin. My original post(before i edited it) was only about the comment from basecamp, regarding the upload of images to this forum....i at first thought that he merely wanted the image instantly visable, rather than having to click on the link to observe it.So i did actually do this for him,and then thought that perhaps that's not what he meant,so i removed the image lol.I'm not certain what he meant,by his request.

Hi you were right the first time, I was hoping someone could make the images visible to all rather than have to click on the link as I cannot for some reason do this at my end.

I remeber getting paid £5 per day potatoe picking on my local farm as a teenager - although I wasn't born in the 17th Century! :P

Oh,okay, thanks for clearing that up.I only removed the image afterwards, since i had second thoughts, that perhaps you meant something else.Anyway, there are several places on the net that will host images for you.If you need a good reliable one, just let me know, and i'll point you in the right direction.

Just follow the instructions given by Hussulo, and you can't go wrong.

When you upload an image to one of these places that hosts images, just copy the link, once the upload is complete, and then paste that into the window which will pop up,when you click on the tree image to add the pic to your post.It may sound a little hard, but trust me,it really isn't.
