Master Jmd Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 are the george III 'cartwheel' pennies meant to be 'like coinmagic's 2p coin', because i have a cartwheel penny that is 180 degrese out... Quote
Half Penny Jon Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Yes they are because all of the late cartwheel issues had an opposite die axis. Quote
william Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 That's right. If the obverse and the reverse of a coin are 180 degrees "out", that is called coin allignment. If the obverse and the reverse of a coin are both the same way round, it is called medal allignment. Therefore your cartwheel penny is in coin allignment. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Keep up the good work William, perhaps I'll have to make you an 'Expert Member' one day if you persistantly give good advice/info like that! Quote

Emperor Oli Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 We had that explanation for another coin a few weeks ago - sorry to dampen enthusiasm Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Don't be such a killjoy, I know that, and even if William had refered to it too, it looked impressive. Quote
william Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 We had that explanation for another coin a few weeks ago - sorry to dampen enthusiasm Oli,For your information Oli, I didn't refer to that topic that we had a few weeks ago. All Master JMD did was ask, so I decided to tell him about it, that's what you would have done, I'm sure.William Quote
Emperor Oli Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I'm just saying if Master JMD had bothered to use the search function, he could have found out his answer Quote
Master Jmd Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 for some reason my search thingy says this:Board Message Sorry, an error occured. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: Sorry, but we did not find any matches to display. Try again and broaden your search criteria. If you were searching for new posts since your last visit, it's possible that there are none to show.and thats for typing in cartwheel Quote
Emperor Oli Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 No, we had changed to a different topic inside a topic. I thought the engine could search posts as well as topic titles. Oh well, well done william Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Master JD and coke (): You should be ok if you adjust the filters to search in all forums and messages from all users. Quote
