Yes an answer would be nice wouldn't it.

I'm busy, someone with Krause or an Irish book out there?

Well, I have this book called British Coins Market Values 2002, and in the Irish section it deals with predecimal stuff, but it does say:

DECIMAL COINAGE

50p, 10p, 5p, 2p, 1p, 0.5p

All issues face value only.

So that's the 50p dealt with, but I can't help you with the punt, sorry!

I'm going to be a nit--pick here (again, yes william ;) ) and say that the Millennium wasn't 2000, it was 2001

Very true, but we can't blame that on Master J.M.D.

2002 Krause lists the 50p (KM26) as $2.50 in UNC (no prices for lower grades), and the 1£ (KM31) as $7.50 in UNC (again, no prices for lower grades)

Of course. Many people have the Krause books - would you recommend buying one? The price seems a bit steep

Yes, every serious world coin collector/dealer should have a couple (1801 - 1900 & 1901 - now), they are a bit expensive, but as far as I know they are the only decent world coin guide in English. The postage is not cheap either, they are like double phone book size!

You can sometimes get better prices, I got mine at less than the RRP from Amazon.de, but of course that wouldn't be possible in the UK. I can also get them from Token publishing with a 25% discount, but the postage really eats that up.

ok, thanks for your help..
