But you just know they'd modernise it and ruin it.Not fussed on St George, i think that design has been around long enough as it is.Yeah i'd like some shield stuff back (like the Geo V half crowns of the 1910s), and Britannia both sitting variety and Edward VII florrie variety. I'd also like a gothic florin look on one of the coins, and how about Una and the Lion, or the three graces?Or even the enthroned monarch of the original gold sovereigns?Of how about something like one of those original gold florins!!! IMHO nowadays, the engravers seem to rely more and more on colour and holograms on coins which overshadows the engraving. I don't think they would be a patch on the originals Quote

Sylvester Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 Well it's one of the better grades i've seen...I'd say GVF at least, wouldn't give it quite EF because those fleur de lis on the reverse are a bit worn.I'd say about £250-£300, selling on Ebay it'd fetch a little more, selling to a dealer you'd get less, usually about £220-240On Ebay these things go mad, beyond all sense sometimes, and you might even get £350 for it.
