Emperor Oli Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 I had a thought - what this site needs is a Wish-Thread. You know, advertise what you're looking for and some other Forum member may have it (chances are slim with our regular members but you never know!).Ok so I want Brilliant Uncirculated Farthings between 1902 to the end of mintage.Let's see where this goes! Chris Perkins Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Good idea Olli, I ammended the title a bit to make it more obvious what it contains for people browsing.I have a stunning 1951 Farthing, I'll call it ABU because it has a couple on tiny weeny pin prick dark spots on the rev. Obv is perfect. It'll be in my next newsletter, unless you want it for £4.00. You's be hard pressed to find better. Quote
william Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Hmmm.... Possibly a Victorian JH groat, or some Victorian gold coins perhaps. A Godless florin would be nice also. Chris has recently answered part of my wish list! And then it comes to the unaffordable things! Una and the lion, a gothic crown etc! Quote
Emperor Oli Posted March 16, 2004 Author Posted March 16, 2004 Darn it, Chris! I already have one (to my recollection I bought it from you) but never mind - this shows useful a thread like this can be! Quote
Chris Perkins Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 I have a stunning ABU 1925 Farthing with just a darker area near the edge, and I have a wonderful 1943. Do you have those?William: I have 2 JH groats at the moment, however one has a small loop welded to it and the other has a die flaw on the back. Both are around Fine. Quote

Chris Perkins Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Alright alright! ABU 1926 and a nice UNC 1922? How about the 1953 proof? Quote
Emperor Oli Posted March 16, 2004 Author Posted March 16, 2004 ABU 1926 and a nice UNC 1922? How about the 1953 proof?I've just completed my collection from 1936 (All BU) at a fair cost so I shall assess my fiscal position shortly to see whether my cavernous vaults can afford such items Quote
Sylvester Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 i like farthings, i once considered collecting them myself, but sadly i tend to only like the full lustre ones. But i do have a nice run of BU Sixpences; 1936-1939, 1942-1950, 1953-1959, 1962, 1964-1970One day i'll get round to completing that lot, not at the top of the agenda at the moment though.I did try shillings but i got fed up of all the bloody English and Scottish varients. Then i tried Brass threepences and got annoyed at all the rounded corner, sharp corner varities and how dealers don't list which is which. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Ok, remind me when I get back next week and I'll specify Round/Sharp on my Brass Threepence listings. Quote
Emperor Oli Posted March 16, 2004 Author Posted March 16, 2004 A zillion. It's on Spinks a la moment for £35,000 Quote
Sylvester Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 How many of those have you got? i prefer the Madge Kitchener variant... Quote
Chris Perkins Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 Oh yes, thought I recognised it, that's the one with the fingerprint isn't it. Quote
