Coppers Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I can't believe that no one has made mention of this yet (news of it was posted on the PCGS forum some time ago), but Neil Paisley of Colin Cooke will be featuring a fine collection of pennies for sale. My understanding is that the bidding procedure will be similar to that used in the sale of Colin Cooke's farthing collection. Here's the brief announcement on the Colin Cooke website:COMING SOON: The Alderly Collection of Pennies - The finest known collection of Pennies to come on the market Quote
Guest E. Dawson Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Yes, this may be a great collection and hope that Neil does a fine catalogue for it! Quote

Bronze & Copper Collector Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 It's a SUPERB COLLECTION, with some GREAT RARITIES..... Including a 1933 Quote
Guest E. Dawson Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I am sure jealous of you two and perhaps having seen the coins yourselves. How would these rate to the Colin Adams bits? Quote

How would these rate to the Colin Adams bits?I never saw the collection, but am aware of the quality of the coins that he sought........ PS: The quality of the Colin Adams collection was excellent ( I have his F-21), and this is excellent too.... I'm not sure how extensive it is, although I know it covers quite a bit..... Quote

Didn't the Colin Adams sale also have a 1933 Lavrillier pattern penny, which was featured on the cover of the catalogue? Quote
