Chris Perkins Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Friday 19th March 3.30 PM.That's when I'm next on BBC 3 CR with the monthly coin phone in.Last time I was damn cool, you should have heard. I was more nervous about paying a lot of money for a 1934 Crown, than having 250,000 people listen to me live on air. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted March 6, 2004 Author Posted March 6, 2004 No, your way too far North for that! And it's a pity they don't broadcast it online yet.I'll ask if they intend doing that when I'm next there. And don't worry, the forumees come first! Quote
william Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 And don't worry, the forumees come first! Yay! Quote
Emperor Oli Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 No, your way too far North for that! And it's a pity they don't broadcast it online yet.I wish they broadcasted longwave. At my house (60 miles north of manchester) I can pick up a French station at LW168. Quote
mint_mark Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 I was more nervous about paying a lot of money for a 1934 Crown, than having 250,000 people listen to me live on air.Well I'd be nervous paying for a 1934 Crown too! So, did someone phone in to ask about one or have you just bought one yourself? (goes off to check the crown section on predeciml.com... ) Nope, still no wreath crowns there Quote
Chris Perkins Posted March 7, 2004 Author Posted March 7, 2004 I bought one myself and have it with me right here!I'll attach a scan, it's a good grade, AEF or so, has some edge dings on the bottom of the rev as you'll notice. I expect I'll put it in the next Newsletter or onto ebay, I have lots to do right now though. I did have a 1931 Wreath, but that sold from the newsletter before it even went into the Crown section. Chris Perkins Posted April 3, 2004 Author Posted April 3, 2004 Yet to confirm a date at the end of April, probably Friday 23rd. So far it's always be a general phone in for the public, I offer the odd wise word, but there's no point trying to teach the public anything is there! Quote

So far it's always be a general phone in for the public, I offer the odd wise word, but there's no point trying to teach the public anything is there! The public would only start another rumour! Imagine-the *rare* 1983 £1, or the *rare* 1971 1p! Quote
Emperor Oli Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 I believe it was a fool on an Antiques programme Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 4, 2004 Author Posted April 4, 2004 Actually the information given by the colleauge at the BBC (Only name dropping, I'm not a BBC employee or anything!) was completely correct about the New pence 2p. It was just the general public that seemed to have heard it wrong. Quote

It was just the general public that seemed to have heard it wrong.Ahh I stand corrected (in orthopaedic shoes hahahahahaha)Have you heard Greg Dyke is thinking of re-applying for the post of Director-General? It was in The Sunday Times today and I thought it quite funny as he said he would never work there again. Edited April 4, 2004 by Emperor Oli Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 4, 2004 Author Posted April 4, 2004 I thought that chap from Channel 4 already got the job. Quote
Emperor Oli Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 Someone was appointed as something (yeah I'm accurate) I think it was Chairman but the Times said today that Dyke was considering it. Quote

Chris Perkins Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 Yes, if you listen to the broadcast is always was the truth. The public miss heard on a giant scale. Quote
william Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 Yeah, the British public can be really thick sometimes! Quote
