Chris Perkins Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I'm collaborating with Kuhli on a 'Check Your Change 2007 - Decimal Coinage' book and I need some coins to provide images in the book. I had all the types from Half Pence to 25p crown, but I need quite a few of the commemorative types. Kuhli also has a lot, but he's in the USA so it would probably be expensive to send them. So, can anyone provide me with any of the coins listed below by post? (I'll send them back registered with a cheque for your postage to me). At the time of writing I need 38 coins (Should be UNC at least, or even proof if you don't have the standard type):1998 EU 50p1998 NHS 50p2003 Suffragette 50p (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2004 4 min mile 50p (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2005 Dictionary 50p (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)1987 or 1992 £11988 £11994 or 1999 £11995 or 2000 £1 (FOUND ONE!)2004 bridge £1 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2005 bridge £1 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)1989 Claim of rights £21994 B of E £21995 Dove £2 (FOUND ONE!)1995 UN £2 (FOUND ONE!)1996 Football £21997 Standard £21999 Rugby £22001 Marconi £22002 Games Eng £2 Sco £2 NI £2 Wal £22003 DNA £22004 Train £2 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2005 Fawkes £2 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2005 St Pauls £2 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)1996 Flags £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)1998 Prince trust £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)1999 Diana £51999 Y2K £52000 Y2K £52000 Queen Mum £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2001 Victoria £52002 Accession £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2002 Queen Mum £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2003 Jubilee £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2004 Entente £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2005 Nelson £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)2005 HMS Victory £5 (GEORDIE ON THE CASE)Can anyone help? The thing is, they are all in the Mint packaging so photography might be a tad difficult. Quote

I have the others, but I don't think they are up to publishing standard, being VF or VF+. Let me know & I;ll post them off. The £5's are in 2x2's but releasing them wont worry me. I'll just replace them in their prisons when they return! Quote
Chris Perkins Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Go for it Geordie, that would be a huge help!Send them all airsure, properly insured, to reach me in Germany before the 5th June if you can....Or if not, I'll be in the UK and can give you a UK address.Oli...If the packaging is completely clear it might be possible. I can set a thing up on my camera to focus at a certain point, so that it will hopefully focus on the coin, not the plastic. I've not really tried it though, so perhaps a coupld of naked ones will come along. Quote
Geordie582 Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 OK! I'll send them off on Tuesday. Bank holidays you know! Quote
Chris Perkins Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Ah yes, so it is.It's not really a major prob should they arrive here when I'm in the UK. Quote

Might be doable.Got the afternoon off, so I can do some right now. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Ok, Kuhli, give it a go. I generally find that the results aren't great behind plastic. Quote
