Guest bini Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 I have a Farthing - 1931 - Georgey boy is looking to the rightThe other farthings I have seen of the same sort of age, he looks to the leftIs it a fake ? Quote
Gary D Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 A picture of both side would be nice. I'm sure someone will come along with an answer but it does sound odd. I can't imagine why anyone would want to forge a fathing, it tended to be higher value coins. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Georgey boy looking looking to the right is normal. His son, Georgey boy the VI looked to the left from 1937 onwards. Quote
Guest Guest Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Edward V11 rightGeorge V leftGeorge VI leftElizabeth right Quote
Geordie582 Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 I'm not a milled collector, but couldn't it be colonial? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Ah yes, I forgot about Edward VIII in the middle, who should have face right, but didn't want to. George V did indeed face left. As far as i know, on all colonial too. Quote
Gary D Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 (edited) I still think a photo is the best way forward here. Edited April 22, 2006 by Gary D Quote
Guest Bini_I'm_a_Guest Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Erm, sorry guys - feeling a bit silly about this. I got it completely wrong.I was trying to sort out a bunch of new coins while having a quiet drink. Its a 1909, with Edward looking to the right instead of the left. Not sure how I managed to get it so screwed up.
