I HAVE AN 1895 YOUNG HRAD FARTHING IN ABOUT EF CONDITION.OUT OF 2.8 MILLION ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY WERE THE YOUNG HEAD BEFORE THE SWITCH? ITS WORTH MANY TIMES MORE THEN THE OLDER HEAD ONE.LIKE TO KNOW THE HISTORY OF THAT. THANX

I don't think the mintage figures are defined.

I do however believe the young head is overvalued in the catalogues and has become "rare" following the key date collecting frenzy of the 60's and early 70's.

Examples are fairly common.

I agree with Peter. Top grade may be dodgy to find, but YH 1895 pieces aren't that rare. I've seen a lot of them just in the US.

Yes, you see them all the time. I picked one up - admittedly only Fine - for £2 because the seller had innocently priced it no differently from all his other late Victorian farthings.

You will need to register in order to post a picture so that an idea of value can be given. Fair is a grade and not very good so an 1860 bronze farthing in fair would not be worth much. If you mean fair as in pretty good nick it would be worth more.
