Geordie582 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 (edited) I've decided to put this subject in it's own Topic as I am seriously puzzled. They do not appear in Spinks and I haven't seen them mentioned anywhere else. Can anyone throw light on this? £2 Sovereign Anniversary obverse £2 Sovereign Anniversary reverseSorry about the obverse, but Coincraft is not an easy book to manipulate on the scanner!By the way the reverse is type 5 not 4 as I originaly said. Chris Perkins Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 The whole 1989 coins looked like that...I had a set of them.Quite popular because of the design. I'm sure they're in Spink, even if not illustrated. Quote
Emperor Oli Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 They do not appear in Spinks Page 484, 2006 issue. Quote
Geordie582 Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 My Spinks is 2004 issue and it does not appear, so that may explain it. Although I'm still puzzled that I have never seen one, even on ebay?Any idea for the omission from the 2004 Spinks? Quote
Emperor Oli Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I'm sure it's in there. Leaf through the pages of Elizabeth II one at a time, I tend to miss things if I look for them quickly! Quote
mint_mark Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 In the 2001 Spinks it has a picture of the sovereign and the two pound entry refers to it, along with the five pound and half sovereign entries. These designs were only used for the four gold proof coins of that year. Quote
Geordie582 Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 O.K.! Found it! Top of page 483 in my copy. The picture is small enough to be overlooked! Thanks folks! Still haven't seen any on ebay or other sites, though! Quote
