Geordie582 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Just a stab in the dark. I make it Edward II Class 11a. The initial cross, drapery and crown are my comparisons. Any other ideas? Quote

Geordie582 Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Asecond look and I'm a bit thrown by the righthand fleur. It's trifoliate while the left is bifoliate. I haven't seen that before! Quote
Geordie582 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Hammered collectors are a bit thin on the ground! Quote
Guest Guest Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I've got a bit of time pm tomorrow so I will have a peek...however I have enough trouble id'ing my own coins...plus I returned North to the library at the weekend....coincraft seems to be easier....(or is it me)Doing my first rally next month....I can do special discounts to forum members if I get any swapsies...I aim on getting a pocketfull of Edward the Martyr's...can't wait. Only found nails, washers and a lead soldier so far.....but there again I have only detected 3 gardens(my house was built in 1990). Quote
Jon Hill Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 It's Edward II then, didn't he have an unfortunate encounter wit a red hot poker? Quote
Sylvester Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Yes Edward II's death was particularly uncomfortable to say the very least. Quote
