Page 22 of the February 2025 Coin News mentions a previously unknown pattern 1887 sovereign sold in 2022 - does anyone know which one this is? I have a few different 1887 pattern sovereign types recorded but the article didn't go into specifics.

I believe that you are talking about Marsh 125H, which was highlighted in the Coin News articles by Steve in January 2023 and May 2024 editions.

the Noble auction lot is attached

Correction, the May 2024 article was in the Numismatist and not Coin News.

Having issues with this forum - thus the multiple posts.

Attached is the front cover of the May 2025 Numismatist which highlights the pattern. The Numismatist has additional images and a better detailed table than the Coin News article. Both articles provide good information, however.

Ah, thank you! Yes, it was the Verene Collection: https://www.noble.com.au/auctions/lot?id=450665

I remember quite a few items of interest in that auction.
