As all coin collectors, I 'attract' various foreign coins from boot sales. junk shops and the like. This little copper intregued me as it has no country stated. I guess it's scandinavian, but trawling through Krause and Reinfeld books I can't find even one like it. Maybe I'm just missing it. Can you help?

My gut reaction was that it was from one of the German states pre-unification. Let me dig around on eBay and Google, I'll see what I can come up with.

Edit: I guessed wrong.

Edit: Ooook I googled a long shot but I think I'm getting somewhere. I recall seeing the coat of arms on some East India regalia. I think it's Dutch East Indies.

So Holland, not Dutch East Indies?

I've added a couple of more coins from the batch. The rest are post war. :D

Yes, it's a Netherlands cent, non colonial.

Thanks Chris! It's surprising what you come across when "ratching"!!

It's in good condition for the type, usually much worse... I have an 1823 in VG :)

I edited my post to include the other coins i found, but perhaps you haven't seen the change? On my Omnicoin site! :D

OK, I went to have a look... they all seem to be identified. For the German one, you need to look at the tiny mint mark letter either side of the eagle's tail (is it B, or D? Can't quite tell). And the Netherlands 1 cent is surely 1823 (not 1825).
