tubandpud Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 I will own up if nobody else does. Is anyone at all interested in collecting Euros ? They don't seem to get mentioned very much.I am collecting them purely because I go to Spain and Tenerife for my regular holidays and pick them out of mychange. As I have only been collecting coins (all sorts) since last October, I could kick myself for not checkingthem over the past few years whilst on holiday. Any change I receive goes into a 'special' pocket and is checkedat the end of the day against my 'wants' lists for each country. As they only go back as far as 1999, it isn't toodifficult to find several new ones, and slot them in place.Like our decimal coins, though, I don't feel they have any 'character', hardly any history YET, but have some kindof future ?? !! Chris Perkins Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 I save BU German ones from change, it's logical to do so isn't it. I've noticed that the 2002 coins seemed to appear again brand new in 2003, which would imply they had an un-used stockpile or struck that date again. In Germany there are also different mint letters. I just take the BU (MS63+) ones and I'm not looking for date sets. The girlfriend collects all the foreign ones from change, unless she already has them. Quote
Emperor Oli Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 I used to but then I realised I didn't actually like them and was just collecting for collecting's sake so I spent them in Paris. Quote
