big jar of wasps Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Hi,Can anyone tell me how much silver is in s crown, and how much should one weight? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 That's a 1951 Crown, so it contains no silver. Quote

Emperor Oli Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 You might like to expand into world gold, something I hope to do in a few years. On my list are the French Roosters, Swiss Helvetias and perhaps some S. American gold. Quote
TomGoodheart Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 I'm not that fussy 'Cept about grading Chris....Chris having said that JoW - a crown weighs 28.2 grammes and until 1902 it WAS silver (well 92.5%) so they are a popular collector's item. It's from the reign of Geo V (1927) that they were debased to only 50% silver and subsequently from the 1951 crown you posted issued in 100% 'fine' cupronickel. Quote
