tubandpud Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Thanks for asking, Unknown. I was wondering the same, but didn't like to query, as this is all new to me ! Quote
Master Jmd Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Its looking good so far...one typo: "I got this lot fo less than three quid". Quote
mitch91 Posted March 3, 2005 Author Posted March 3, 2005 I am trying to help out beginners in coins in a simple way and this is also going to be for pics of my coins etc. The reason for the forum is just because it was to go with the site and I got free hosting for itBTW Typo fixed Quote
Emperor Oli Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Seems a bit patronising, especially the budget part which itself is flawed. You assume that adults have great disposable income to spend on coins, which many don't. It's good so far, but tweaks are needed. Quote
mitch91 Posted March 3, 2005 Author Posted March 3, 2005 That was slap dash I am deleting the names bit Quote
mitch91 Posted March 3, 2005 Author Posted March 3, 2005 Wont let me edit postThis site has also been set up mainly for a bit of fun for me and also to keep me occupied Quote
TomGoodheart Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Seems cool Alex. Though when I went to photos I HAD expected to see some coins! (nice landsacpes though). (Sorry 'bout the spelling - my daughter is playing the violin and it's difficult to concentrate).2 suggestions - younger collectors - try scrounging! Many people are happy to hand over spare foreign change to youngsters if they know they are interested.-Mature millionaires (like me (NOT!) - Ebay etc is fine but you don't get the chance to develop a relationship with a dealer. If you buy regularly from a dealer they will get to know your wants. I've known good customers (ie who buy often and pay promptly!) to get first refusal when that 'special' coin comes up. I'm sure Chris (and Andy) will be delighted if anyone wants to try this out!! Seriously though, talking to other collectors and dealers is an invaluable way of learning about the hobby. Quote
