Ukstu Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) I have two piedforts. The 1990 & 1994. Picked them up cheap a few years ago as investments. Edited October 15, 2017 by Ukstu Quote
Unwilling Numismatist Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Nice set, i unfortunately didn't have the cash to go with the foresight when these were at a reasonable price. Given all the recent media hype, I can imagine these will probably do remarkably well now Quote

Sword Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I brought a 1984-1987 piedfort £1 set a few years back for ca £60. It was the only occasion I brought anything decimal. I guess I brought them for sentimental reasons as I remember getting them for pocket money when I was a lad. The presentation case is also very nice too. It is a shame that the Royal Mint can't be bothered to make nice cases for similar sets later on. Quote
Unwilling Numismatist Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 That is a nice collection, and I agree - the RM do seem to be cheaping out on the quality of presentation these days, mlking every last drop of profit from their sales with flimsy cars and cheap plastic abound. Quote
