claude-83 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 hi,i hope u are all doing well;a couple of days ago bought this coin from a trusted dealer;your thoughts please, how would u grade this one and,of course, how much do u think it worth;many thanks! Quote
Stuntman Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Well I like it. A very nice coin, in good nick with plenty of eye appeal. A solid VF from me, I don't think it would make GVF. Somewhere between £75 and £125? Quote
claude-83 Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 thx!;well, I did pay more than 125£,but,no probs,thx for your reply Quote
Stuntman Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 The main thing is if you're happy with it for the price you paid. It's certainly a pretty coin that's had a bit of life, but which has remained in good nick over the past 173 years! My 1885 for comparison - graded GVF by the selling dealer: 1 Quote

Sword Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 1937 proof sets turn up very often in auctions. A nFDC set can be brought for around £240 + commission. Look out for sets with brass and bronze having good lustre. Avoid coins with fingerprints or hairlines of course. Quote
