Hello!!

I dedicate my first topic to my coin of 2 Reales, maked in Barcelona in 1712 during the Spanish Succession War. The emissor was Charles III of Austria, the suitor to Spanish Throne. The coin is of silver.

Weight: 4,85g

Kindest regards,

Raúl

Very nice Raul, is the denomination (2 Reals) specified somewhere on the coin?

Are you aware that in the UK, in the 1790's, we over-stamped Spanish (or Spanish South American) 8 (and 4) Real coins and used them as crowns (5 shillings)?

Hi Raul, the Spanish 8 Reales is one of my favourite foreign coins, lots of history attached and nice lump of silver to hold. Welcome to the forum......

I suppose the R and II at both sides of the shield in the reverse?

This coin would be a nice piece in a Spanish Sucession-themed tray alongside some VIGO silver, now I think about it

Is there any mint (ceca) mark?
