Lol...i've just got my second with my pocketmoney :) ...

I wonder when we sill start to see the 2005 pennies and such...

Honestly, with the abundance of commemorative coins these days it's really tough trying to collect a full set from change... I'm still missing a few from 2004!

Posted

I hoard the 1988 ones, but i've had to let alot go lately, i've only got 1 or maybe 2 left now, i did have about 8.

Still no 2004 £1 coin for me here, i haven't had one in my change, but my father did, so i did acquire one via that method, but that's been shipped off the Finland for a collector there who was waiting for one, a year of waiting and it's finally somewhere in the post.

...oh well :)

I've received several 1988's in my change, but 1998 is my problem.

I just need one 50p and a couple of 10p's to complete my current currency.

Still need a few of the bigger 50p, 10p and 5p's, but I've only been looking for

a couple of months. I do know the grandchildren have some in their toy boxes !! - so

it might cost me a lot to exchange them !!!

They seem to be appearing more frequently now. If you're stuck I have a spare.

1998's and 1999's were not released into circulation and were in sets only.

I'd take a closer look at that 1999 one of yours out if i were you.

So how many people here save new coins? I have a reasonable hoard going back over the years, but I also have some gaps in my collection. I know Chris doesn't sell single decimal coins, but he once said he's got some tucked away too!

Yes I have, but I'm not really passionate about them. I just have them from collecting as a kid, and the decimals from collections I've bought in the past. I don't offer them for sale because the time it would take to scan and list them all would be huge, and none of them are particularly valuable.

Something for the future, and certainly something to offer if the UK should ever go EURO (which at the moment looks very unlikely)

Machin head bronze coins in BU with full lustre, what you got Chris, i'm needing some, any of the following;

1/2ps - 1973-1984 (were BU versions of '84 struck?)

1ps - 1980-84

2ps - 1975-1981

I wish I'd kept my mouth shut now. You see, none of them are in any particular order!

Let me deal with your Nazi coins first!

Hmmm, I have a few spare of those too. Are you looking for some Sylvester or disposing of them?

PS, I'll see what I have in those decimal date ranges too.

I'm wanting. A mint (Berlin) issues in AUNC or better, UNC preferred. But lustrous AU is good be me! :D

Well, that was easy! I found 7 spare 3rd reich coins, 6 of which were Berlin but the best is only about EF and somewhat mottled (1939 5pf). The others are 3 zinc 10pf (VF at best) and a couple of aluminium 50pf more like F.

Still, the small ones shouldn't be hard to come by, even the zinc issues. For some reason I've never seen many 2pf though. The 2M and 5M seem pretty obtainable too.

I was assuming you meant nazi as in with a swastika... if you're interested in late Weimar I found a spare 1936A 5pf (obv EF trace lustre, rev worse)

Like Chris, I'll have to do some digging to check my decimals but I wanted to sort them out anyway, so now I have an excuse... might be a day or two...

Pretty much with Swastikas, although some issues 1933-1936 didn't have them. 5RM and 50RPFGs being the most obvious.

Not so much interested in the earlier period as yet, just trying to put together at least one, 'notorious' regime set. The Weimar Republic isn't high up on the list.

After Germany, i've got Mary Tudor hotlisted.

I have some BU early 80s 1/2p which could go to a good home. I've only ever seen the '84 in proof.

Good theme! The first coin I thought of when I read that is my Viet-Nam 1 dong with Ho Chi Minh on it... my next thought was that noteriety depends on a point of view. Maybe you should get a set of modern US coins :) Ooh! You could have coins from each of Napoleon's puppet states... shouldn't be too hard to find some with portraits...

Yeah i've got Washington Quarters covered! :D

I can't find any Maragret Thatcher coins though.

Don't say that! The Royal Mint will probably do one when she dies :/

Sorry Syl, I still have them in my desk.

They will be on the post as soon as I manage to go to the post office!

I hope you don't mind waiting a bit longer... after 1 year waiting for 16D...
