Chris Perkins Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 And of course, if someone actually does fork out £100k, I won't complain. A link to your website would have been a good idea too....i didn't see one. Quote
wybrit Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 ebay doesn't allow a link, unfortunately. The site address is wybrit.com. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 Yeah, I know what it is!I've always had a link to prdecimal.com in my listings. I had had things stopped a few times, but only because I was selling something that was available cheaper by following the predecimal.com link. Maybe the rules are different there. Quote

Guest CRAIGSD_I'm_a_Guest Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 What makes me laugh is when Ebayers describe coins are rare when they are not, eg "RARE 1967 PENNY- MINT CONDITION!!!!!!" Also I saw an ordinary pound coin up for sale and the seller had described it as "having sentimental value as he got it in his change down the pub" And some people had bidded on it!!! THEY WILL ALSO SAY "KEY DATE" ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE AN 1889 HALF CROWN OR AN 1853 FLORIN! WHAT I DO WHEN I SEE THAT IS RESPOND IN THE 'ASK SELLER A QUESTION' AREA, AND I WILL SAY "4.8 MILLION MINTED-NOT KEY DATE!" THAT LETS THEM NO THEY ARENT FOOLING ANYONE.ITS ALSO KINDA FUN EXPOSING THOSE CLOWNS! Quote

wakeyologist Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 i think people like to buy and sell coins on ebay mainly due to a lack in accessable coin auctions and the convenience of it all. i too buy and sell coins on ebay and find that some people or dishonest in their description and postage costs. I always try and give a postage discount when buying more than one coin. Quote
Master Jmd Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 (edited) Money, Genuine One Pound CoinAnd I quote: " Although I have no actual evidence that this was the actual coin used by Prince Charles to put the deposit down on Camillas new engagement ring, it has got a picture of his mum on the back! ( a bit of a give away don't you think?) " ...and its recieved a bid...! Edited March 9, 2005 by Master Jmd Quote
Geordie582 Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Hmm! I'll be watching this to see if you have any takers, as I have a few I could sell Quote
Geoff T Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 This looks like the typical eBay scam whereby you undersell the item but overcharge on the postage, so that you make a profit after all. Would have served him right if the buyer had decided to save on the postage by collecting in person!G Quote
Half Penny Jon Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 If that's a Matt Proof then 1967 pennies are officially scarce! My Webpage Quote

Chris Perkins Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Yes, but when you're talking about mad things in general you can't include Americans in the equation because as they have recently demonstated on the world stage, and I think Axel Rose once put it perfectly when he sang (referring obviously to the rest of his countrymen): 'You're F*!£ing crazy'.(Points for song and album by the way, and no googling) Quote
custard1966 Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Is the seller herehttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...3964089545&rd=1geniunely ignorant or is it just a clumsy attempt at fraud?Look at the reply to Questions from other buyers Quote
