Davethepitch Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Are £1 piedfort coins hard to sell as i have been having problems. Dave Quote
Colin G. Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I have no doubt it will all depend on the price , I don't think piedforts are necessarily any more difficult to sell than any other silver proof coins. Quote
Davethepitch Posted April 28, 2016 Author Posted April 28, 2016 Hi Colin Maybe i just don't have what people want or i am asking to much on the bay. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 The 1983 one is quite sought after, the rest are a bit slow (unless quite cheap). They are essentially a Royal Mint sales gimmick - making a coin twice as thick. It works when they're new, but 2nd hand they are generally slow unless priced just a little more than the normal silver proof versions (which are normally around £15 I think). Quote
Davethepitch Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 I have the English oak, Irish Flax, Scottish thistle and the Welsh leek piedfort £1 coins for sale and there has only been 12 views in four days so maybe my wording is wrong Quote
jon Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I think a lot depends.on what they are and how much you are asking for them. I listed around a dozen on here and 4 sold very quickly most likely because the buyer was collecting the "theme" Chris (forum owner) has a Facebook group dedicated to decimal where you could try or preloved or gumtree (that's where I sold the rest of mine) Quote
