Hi all, I am completely new to coin collecting having found some coins in my late mothers possessions. Not sure if they are worth keeping or 'moving on' to somebody who knows what they are doing!

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. There is -

a George v 1922 Half Crown,

2x George V One Shilling,

Edward VII 1902 three pence,

various George V three pence coins from 1913 onwards,

Victoria (bun head!) 1840 Six pence,

Victoria 1834,1885, 1887, 1900 three pence,

George IV 1942 one shilling,

various George IV sixpence from 1941 to 1950.

Thanks one and all for you time and help in advance.

Welcome to the forum PB.

It's going to depend a lot on the grades of the coins you've found, if you can upload pictures it would be much easier to give you an idea of what you have..

Just shout if you need help adding photos.

Hi Welcome to the forum. The coins you have pictured are very low grade.Maybe you could get a bit above melt for some of the 3d's. The silver content is pre 1920 92.5% (sterling) and 1920 to 1946 50%. If you weighed them and put them on ebay in these 2 categories you should shift them.

I would agree with Peter that as they are very low grade, your best bet would be selling as a bulk lot of scrap silver.

I hope you'll buy a nice coin with the proceedings! ;)
