Mynki Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Hypothetical question, of which I do have an interest though... If you were wanting to start a collection of gothic florins, which years would be :- The most reasonable in terms of price? The easiest to find? The most desirable? Finally, how common are these in gEF and UNC? Quote
copper123 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I think 1886 is easy to find - no surprise really. Coins in GEF + are seriously rare esp for the early dates Two shillings was a serious amount of money in victorian times and though a few hoards have been found the surply of these coins in good grade is seriously limited , you will need deep pockets to get even ten or fifteen coins , never mind the full sel. the 1849 godless florin is a good start though there are plenty around in higher grades Quote
VickySilver Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Yes, I concur with that bit. Also such dates as 1858, many in the mid-1870s. As per the shilling post, you better duck if you want a top 1854 or 1863! Quote
Stuntman Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 1872 is the commonest I think. Guess which single date I have! Quote
