Hi Guy I am sure we have spoken about this before, but how did you get to 26 varieties? If I tot up all the minor varieties detailed in Groom, I get to 60 distinct types, and if I just include the major varieties, I get to 17, so which of the minors do you include? Here's my list of 17: 1902: 2 1903: 2 1904: 1 1905: 2 1906: 1 1907: 1 1908: 4 1909: 3 1910: 1 cheers Declan

Hi Guy I'll go through those at my leisure - thank you! Groom is: The Identification of British 20th Century Bronze Coin Varieties, by David J. Groom ISBN: 978-1-4092-8550-2 It's miles more detailed than Freeman - for instance he describes 13 types of 1902LT, and 13 types of 1907. Dave Groom is on the forum "daveg38", and I bet he could flog you one - he's done one for silver too - better than Davies but, like the bronze one, only covers the 20th century. hope you find one - if you like your varieties, you'll love these two little books... Declan
