  1. It's a car I've admired for a good while. As it goes, the '06 models are still up at around £15k - £20k which is good going for the age IMO. I drive an RX8, good fun until it starts to whinge. These depreciated massively as no one wants to run them Anyway sorry for the thread hijack Nons. You mentioned a couple are slightly down on grade but you're picking up coins with decent eye appeal IMHO. Can't beat a bit of good honest toning. Nons has a great eye for a coin imo, he has come a long way in a short time
  2. Nice 1754 TC. As you will have seen in the 'Let's see your copper ..." thread, a lot of us like nice copper ... of course!
  3. Yes, thanks Vicky, thinking of going later this month. Some of the grading / descriptions on their pictures lots is, shall we say, interesting ... Example
  4. link
  5. A very warm welcome teecee! 7 weeks?? Tread carefully out there! Ask anything you like in here before any major purchases
  6. It's Most definately better than fine, it's VF and perhaps more. I agree, I suspect the dealer was positioning himself in case he was asked "how much would you offer me for it?"
  7. I think they have had a lot of consignments recently, judging by browsing through the most recent UINs. I'm guessing a significant number which have been fast tracked too. Looks like they have been grading a bunch of 2015 £100 coins ahead of others (UIN 36800 for example). They state up to 90 days so they are nowhere near that yet, but it has never taken anything like that long before (for me) ...
  8. Great news Adam! You're in for a long wait if you're sending it to CGS I think, previously my coins have been returned in 4-5 weeks, but this time round they haven't even reached the first stage in the process, after 6 weeks ...
  9. "bold very fine for issue", Room 101 candidate
  10. Yes, all the way to the bank! For an extra £50 or so you can have the Executive Proof Set!
  11. Beautiful coin Rash, but am I the only one who cringes when I see high grade coins being handled (except by the edges only) without gloves?
  12. Peter's right, they can display twat-like tendencies. Here's my example that was rejected for """"Re-toning"""", which I obtained from a very reputable source.
  13. I suspect my 1666 Crown is the ultra rare "3 inverted 9s error" - I have submitted it to PCGS for their confirmation
  14. Their submission form has clearly stated up to 90 days for standard submissions for well over a year now, so I imagine it was an old form. but I cannot defend their attitude towards customers who phone with queries. To be honest, I think a certain lady is responsible for this poor experience.
  15. I also have a coin rejected for "Re-toning". I think if they meant "Cleaned (or dipped) and now naturally re-toning", they would give "Cleaned" as the reason for rejection, so I think they mean that in their opinion the coin has been subjected to some form of AT
  16. Works for me Drake, but it is very clearly another 1819/9 as far as I can see, can anyone else access Drake's link? In fact, it is SO clearly an 1819/9 (to my eyes) that I can only imagine it was a typo by someone at PCGS! Here is a close-up from the PCGS database pic
  17. Looks to me that you are coming on in leaps and bounds for a relative beginner Nons, and I know what you paid for those coins (by the way only one of them was from me) so I would say you have done very well. Keep posting your newbies! There doesn't seem to be much going on on here for later milled silver these days! I'll post a common-as -muck-1887-HC I have just acquired and risk any ridicule!
  18. I just don't have the words Peter, stay strong
  19. Some of those MPs are paranoid, that's for sure
  20. Exactly, so people who bid on his items should now surely know he enhances his pictures, but in this instance he's made a complete mess of them I thought he also AT'd his coins, but of course he can't if it's in a slab ...
  21. We don't have Taco Bell AFAIK. Does this mean regional varieties of AT?
  22. I have noticed that quite a number of his stated over-dates are 'unclear' at best ...
  23. Just noticed, happy birthday Copper123!
  24. They do make the odd mistake (don't we all) and their grading consistency has been questionable at times, but my personal experience has been positive overall. Believe me, if Peter thinks it's a good idea to send your coin to them, then that is really saying something!
  25. I will also recommend sending it to CGS, if you have no reason to believe it is other than genuine - could be money well spent. It should weigh 14.1g, if you pop into a jewellers I would expect them to have accurate scales. Good luck!
