  1. Suddenly I have around 25 kg British high grade, higher value coins for sale... Please hurry up with fair offers. Within the next two years S&H to UK (remaining England w/o Northern Ireland & Scotland) would implicate higher customs fees as well edit: needless to say that one of my life insurance policies is coached by a british insurance company...

  4. 1 Pfennig 1896 E Muldenhütten Mint Bronze Jaeger No. 010
  5. 5 Pfennig 1909 E Muldenhütten Mint Cu-Ni Jaeger No. 012 early strike, NOTE: In Anglo-Saxon publications as well as on certification slabs such a coin is described as ultra cameo proof very often. This is NOT a proof coin. This coin was produced with freshly manufactured dies instead. This is the reason for that high degree of contrast. The appearance of genuine proof coins from that time period can be compared with British proof coins minted and packed in the 1970ties... PS Purchased that for 15 Euro, a chummy coin dealer wanted to do me some favour

  13. The background of these coins is the transition from so called "Altdeutschland" (German states prior formation of the German empire in 1871) and the the imperial coinage. It is the transition from predecimal to decimal currency system. Before 1871 people in Germany had a complicated exchange system of various state currencies. The common background was the silver standard shared by almost all German states. Germany switched from silver standard to gold standard in 1873. I wrote & published an article about this time periode. It is written in German. In case anyone is interested and able to understand the text, fell free to contact me for pdf. These coins are well sought after in high grade. Usually they can be found in poor condition. German states and German empire are classical collectors fields for advanced coin collectors. The prices dropped during the past years, you can purchase these for a fraction compared to British counterparts of that age and condition. Now it is a good time to make bargains, but the market will be empty soon I guess...

  25. well... The silver coinage of the first republic (1 Mark, 2 Mark, 3 mark & 5 Mark) was withdrawn in the 1930ties before the outbreak of WWII. The material was used for coinage of the Hindenburg 2 Mark & 5 Mark pieces. Silver disappeared from circulation lateron. It was considered as important for the war effort. The officially withdrawn silver coinage went into the melting pot, the resulting silver bullion was used for weaponry-deals as payment. Anyways... the latter coins are very common. The population denied to obey the Nazi government in this regard. The remaining silver coinage was hoarded in large numbers.
