the pound coins are selling for £35 pounds plus,the sets cost £30,also leaving behind the £2 Britannia coins and the shield 50p which are fetching upwards of £5.

i can see there is current scramble for these coins on ebay as the last round pound coin advertised by the royal mint is in effect not the last,these coins are being sold for £34 plus p&p on ebay. from what i can see the coin is being taken from the baby sets which are currently available from the royal mint for £30,i don't think they will be available for long.

they're simple to find,ebay/search one pound coin/filter via highest price. one went through today at approximately 10.30 am and sold for £162.57 the one with a £240 bid on it was pulled i think.

ive noticed there are presently three or four for sale on ebay, 2017 design but dated 2016.are these test examples like the trial coin dated 2015? and are they legal to sell, £250 is the present bid on the one nearest to end.

I can make out the entire right hand upright of the H, and the top half of the left. (I zoomed my screen.) Likewise. I zoomed in on the iMac and can see this fairly clearly. I guess the people who can't see it don't have Macs I can see it without anything. A definite area of discolouration underneath the date between the 7 and the 6. I now make my living selling coins and working as an independant consultant for auction houses. I don't handle 200-300 coins a year, I average that number in a day. The coin has clearly been altered and then made to look distressed, that is obvious from the vertical smear mark showing down Britannias arm. If you want proof it is an attempt to decieve send it to me and I will pay the £50 submission cost to Robert Matthews to have him write a full report on why it is an altered coin. I looked at this photo with photo zoom pro,could see no H,any chance of a better photo please Daz. A handy pointer that the coin has been altered is the fact that it has been artificially "dirtied" for want of a better word. Some people like to clean coins, nobody likes to make them look worse than they are unless they are trying to disguise something. I guess in the end you'll see what you want to see though. It's not so much what I want to see, it's what I can't see, I know for sure can't see (the entire right hand upright of the H on this coin)all I have asked for is a better photo. for is a closer look,the more information the better.

it's simple the penny is going down hill because the pound is going down hill,the pound is going down hill because the country is going down hill, in recent months you've had what was called called devaluation of the pound now known as Quantitative easing -printing mony mony with no value,the problem is not the penny but what gives the penny worth.
