Undoubtedly a post mint production gold plating.... VERY COMMONLY done to Kennedy Halves, and Ike Dollars to create novelty items.... Many advertisments for them appeared in the 70's and 80's, and still some today......... there is no premium involved, especially to collectors, except possibly a devaluation in value to the purist..... Gary
