I don't use ebay for coins too much junk. Since i collect Anglo-Saxon pennies it'd be unwise to purchase them on ebay anyhow, as many replicas abound. My other two areas of interest are Nazi Germany minor coins in UNC and EF+ Louis XVI coins of France. Coins of this nature do turn up on ebay regularly but never above VF, and they always sell way over real value, so there's no real point looking. Find yourself about half a dozen decent professional internet dealers (Chris, Richard etc.) and stick with them, sure you might not get the same level of 'bargain' one off lucky buys that turn up rarely that you do on ebay, but similarly you'll not get fiddled, sold anything substandard or otherwise get landed with pure overinflated, overrated junk neither. Quality is the key. (Plus i get carried away when i get bidding so i never get a bargin as i always pay far too much, ebayitis, it's not about the coin it's about winning the auction!)
