  2. i was close... and maundy sets are probably the oldest sets, and maundy sets can be purchased in those plastic cases:)

  4. yes but (sorry to keep going on and on) i have two 2pence coins that are basicly twins, but i know that one of them has been in circulation because i got it a the bus home from school...so if it was grade then i could just say that both of them are uncirculated then?
  5. and coin sets are still going...the latest british one it the 2004 set...
  6. well, the earliest coin set i have seen was the victoria silver jubilee set, and world-wide sets would probably total up to atleast 100 or more...
  7. i currentlty store my coins in an album, mostly because i am a few hundered £ out for the cabinet i want... (this:from ebay for £425 ) but i think i will try to get the coronet thingy...
  8. i know how both sides can be seen at once...put a mirror behind the coin when you take the photo, then we can see both sides at once

  10. fair point. I have a 2002 £1 coin that looks like it is made out of iron, and can be scrached with ease, i would say that that is a fake.

It appears we have some younger collectors on here... yes, im one of the young ones, i am 13 years old. i got into coins about 4 weeks ago when my uncle gave me some old coins (about 80), and since then i have gathered quite a collection by asking members of my family. I have about 400 coins, about 200 of them are duplicates.
  12. the coins with the wrong metal are usually regarded as fakes.
  13. why is this? stamps and postcards are more valuable when thay have been posted. why is this different with coins?
