Speaking of eBay, believe it or not, I was one of the first people to list coins for sale on eBay when they expanded categories to include coins, back in '96. It started out as an exchange medium for PEZ dispensers, and it was FREE!!!! Those were the days.

It's a syndicated radio show, they play all old 80's "hair rock", like Twisted Sister, Poison, Cinderella, etc." The stuff I always listened to. Almost like a copycat of Kasey Casem Top 40, but with the older stuff. He takes dedications, tosses it lots of trivial information, and recalls some of the Top 10 Hit lists from back then.

Is that a penny, or half-penny?? I have a nice UNC (MS-64) 1854 penny, that is lonely in my collection of well circulated stuff.

Don't know anything about it, but there is another one on eBay right now with a BIN of US$34.95, a lot less than C$199.99 your example is listed at. eBay auction #2

And I was just beginning to like the bloke. Dee Snider avatar, and all. I usually catch a few minutes of his show "House of Hair" on my way to work on Sunday mornings. And if I really want to hear him, I just slap the CD into the computer and jam.

The grade is still UNC. The grade is the amount of wear and marks on a coin. Look at it this way, if you take a new car for a test drive, and put 20 miles on it, is it still new???? Yes, it is. Still has all the characteristics of a car fresh from the assembly line, the little mileage is incidental. But, if you were to take a 5 mile test drive, and accidentally clip a light post and scratch the fender, then it isn't new anymore, is it?? It now has evidence of usage and wear.

That would be D.H.F. Somerset, which would date the note to the early 80's, listed as P-377b. This was the last 1£ note before the issue of 1£ coins.

What signature is on the 10 shillings note?? Is it: ->L.K. O'Brien (P-373a) ->J.Q. Hollom (P-373b) ->J.S. Fforde (P-373c) As far as the 1£ note, I assume it has the portrait of QEII, as you make reference to her in your question. ->J.S. Fforde (P-374e) ->J.B. Page (P-374g) I don't know the values, because I do not have a catalog (nor do I collect banknotes), but the reference numbers should help you in your search.

2002 Krause lists the 50p (KM26) as $2.50 in UNC (no prices for lower grades), and the 1£ (KM31) as $7.50 in UNC (again, no prices for lower grades)

UNC and EF refer to the "condition" (grade) of the coin. An UNC coin shows no signs of circulation (AKA wear). EF will have signs of circulation (wear) on the high spots. It is possible, and quite common, to get coins directly from mint bags that have bag marks (nicks in the coins from contact with other coins in the bags), and rub spots (wear on the high spots), thus making the coin EF before it ever reaches circulation.

Sylvester, All the 71 pennies were shipped over here to US. I have about 200+ of them, from buying bulk lots from dealers. They use them as cheap filler. I figure if I save enough of them, I can take them across the pond when I come over to visit. (I wonder if they will let me through Heathrow with a 400 pound suitcase full of pennies??) Not to mention about 6 dozen of the old '67 large pennies. But fortunately, I have only 1 Churchill, just as an example that it existed. A dealer/friend saw me looking at some of his British coins once and asked me if I had one, which I didn't. He pulled out a cigar box with a couple hundred, and told me to pick one out, gratis. He literally could not give them away.
