How long have you all been collecting (number of years). I have been collecting since I was 7 or 8 when my Grandad gave me all of his old coins he saved back in 1971 after decimalisation. That means that I have been collecting for 7 years.
It is very hard to believe. In fact, if you look on the colin cooke website, there is an 1841 half penny with full lustre as well as an 1838 with full lustre. My Webpage My Webpage
Hello everyone, I think we need a what if...... thread just to see what sort of coins peope would buy if we became millionaires. Personally, I would complete the bronze series as best I can and if possible, I would buy every proof set since 1826.
When I first looked at it, I thought it was UNC lustre with prooflike fields. That is the first time that I have seen an 1841 proof farthing. There is also a silver proof one but those are hardly ever seen.
I think that there should be a photo gallery with a dealor inventory attached so that we could all see a photo of who we are dealing with. (300th post)
There are two different varieties for the 1933 penny. The one which resembles all of the other pennies of the period is worth more. The other variety was a pattern.
That's absolutely true. What hits you is how ordinary it looks. Colin was quite happy to let me see it; on e advantage of being in touch with him is that you get to see quite a lot of things you can only dream about owning. BTW on eBay at the moment someone is selling what they claim to be an 1839 proof Manx farthing http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW I wonder what Colin would have done if you dropped it!
