  1. When it gets to 200Kg, and you're not going to put that in the loft, and you need the money, it's difficult not to weigh it all in....
  2. Ha! No- they see old pennies and know what they are. I'm not the only guy who brings them uk bronze coinage at that yard, apparently.
  3. I have an EMR account for cable and alloys, and I get 'Heavy Copper' without asking each time I weigh in currency bronze....
  4. Would it open modern bottles as well?
  5. By the Thames, our member Mr Danelaw, Spend many hours whilst looking at the floor. And there to his surprise, upon the bank, he realised that he'd found an ankh. Perhaps it's from a ship that sank?
  6. That Desk Sergeant was very understanding...:)
  7. Well spotted- I had not a lot extra this year- the Muscat grape ( bad year- grey mould and splitting ), the Solandra and a Cestrum Nocturnum were there as usual, with the addition of a watermelon, which did very badly this year- red spider, and an enormous plum tomato, which had finished. actually, I was sick of the mostrosity- stupidly big, and the fruit were tasteless...!
  8. Such a great spell of weather- I cleaned the shed out, cleaned the greenhouse out, and got my overwintering area sorted. Pint glass for scale. Nearly gave myself a hernia lifting those pots..:)
  9. Exactly.....:)
  10. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RS-Job-Lot-Flat-Nose-Snipe-Nose-Cutter-Screwdriver-Wench/224140929486?hash=item342fd729ce:g:sZYAAOSwNrpfTlE6 Missing one photo? What's she like? I want to see a picture before I give you any money.....
  11. Yes- I couldn't believe it when he and Bert Weedon walked in.....:)
  12. Tell them that you've just discovered Ebay.....:)
  13. Extraordinary! How did I miss this?? The advertising for stuff is getting stupid now, and I don't use ANY of it - no children, no hair, no debt, ex-girlfriend and family run a funeral business, I don't want a package holiday or a new car. I don't want to gamble online or buy a mobility scooter. I'm fine with my energy supplier and my bank. If one more vapid harpie tells me about hyaluronic acid I'm going on a killing spree....
  14. Fubar: I got rid of the half container full of spares for BMW 2002's a couple of years back. I have my garage workshop stuffed, both lofts boarded out and stuffed, all other storage under the stairs etc stuffed, a container on a farm stuffed, a long small barn stuffed, two workshops on another farm stuffed, and a large Lot n Store stuffed, with old studio gear and parts. I think I'm up to about five tons. Probably more. I know how you feel....:) Oh- and I worked on a studio session where Jim Marshall wanted to record a crooner album, and Bert Weedon turned up with his guitar.......
  15. Oh wow- I bought a box of records from a friend this month who said "gimme 50 quid" so I did. Buried amongst the usual stuff that a 60 year old man has lying about, there was: The Modern Revolutionary Ballet by the Red Detachment of Women (DM 6166)- a 1971 Chinese propaganda LP, The Legendary Skatalites- (Jam Sound JLP555), Tangerine Dream 'Poland' (Zomba HIP22)- never knew it existed, Jimi Hendrix 'Band of Gypsys' (Capitol STAO-472) Jimi Hendrix 'Electric Ladyland' Part 1 (Track Record 613010) And Jimi Hendrix 'Electric Ladyland' 'Vol1 and 2' (Polydor SLPHM 184719 and SLPHM 720), for the South Africa market. I told my friend about them and he said he didn't care- they were just old records. Bonkers. My Thorens TD160 is going to be busy....:)
  16. He is Abel to sell such tat- his right is enshrined in law.
  17. If that is the case, then maybe the seller is a soul trader.....
  18. I think that's a reproduction pebble, so it's legal, strangely. It _is_ a pebble, because it's clearly has a diameter between 4 and 64 millimetres, so that's ok..... Too many granules and cobbles are sold as 'pebbles' on Ebay at the moment, but what can you do? I hear the Pun Engine starting up...... Get Ready........
  19. Just got my LCA catalogue- straight to pennies as usual......uh...where are they? Had to look online to find them- hardly any, no pictures in the catalogue, which is why I missed them. Do penny people think it's a bad time to sell? The opposite scenario to gold coins? Never seen so much gold in this catalogue before....
  20. About time, because Vettel's last album was crap....
  21. pennyThis morning I looked at ebay, saw an 1879 small date, very nice, £100. Almost too good... Checked out the seller, looked at feedback, went back to it, and it was sold. It had been on ebay about ten minutes!! Someone on here is faster than me...sometimes I wish I wasn't so cautious! I'm still annoyed with myself. On the way home someone will tell me how the Grand Prix went- I haven't seen it yet..gonna be one of those days....
