  1. Wow, I don't collect hammered, but I would love to have that in my collection! Are you going to buy it Sylvester?
  2. As far as I know, my school don't have any of these detector thingys. We only get punished if a teacher finds us doing that!
  3. I don't know about that Oli, but that barely happens!!
  4. No, I was afraid my password would get found out because someone was practically watching, so I came on as a guest!! How many posts did you do?
  5. Ah, then it would have to be VF/GVF, because the obverse always comes first when you put two grades together like that!
  6. Everyone on here seems to be obsessed with those Nichols things!!
  7. That's happened to me as well in the past, and sometimes, if I'm really lucky, the edit button isn't even there!!
  8. What a coincidence, I had ICT today, and had finished all my work, so I sneaked on here today too!
  9. Hasn't everyones edit button been like that?!
  10. Is this Sylvesters one or TomGoodhearts one? If it is Sylvesters, I don't think that obverse is Good Very Fine!
  11. I would grade your coin at AVF/VF, AVF being because of that hair, but the reverse is definately VF!
  12. Yes, he did; if I remember rightly, he exchanged a 1934 wreath crown for some gold, and the other Wreath Crowns (except for 1934). Is that right Chris?
  13. I think he did get them all at once Penny Master, if I read the newsletter correctly!
  14. When are you going to add those extra definitions then Chris
  15. What did it look like before, I am told it was massive, but never saw it!
  16. Ah, that's what it is, thanks
  17. Sorry Sylvester, I have already seen the Netherlands ones, and the Irish ones, 'twas not a pretty sight!
  18. What have they done?! They look horrible!!
  19. I love Edward VII florins, but they always seem to be struck weakly. Chris_Lander, if I was you I would invest in some early Victorian gold!
  20. I think those San Marino euros have just become my favourite set of Euros too! I especially like the €2, 10 cent and five cent ones.
  21. There are of course proof versions, but i won't talk about them. Here are some post victorian varieties: Some Victorian and Edward VII farthings have a dark finish Some 1926 halfcrowns have no colon after OMN The 'H' varieties and 'KN' varieties of British pennies From 1949 onwards, all British coins didn't have Ind;Imp on them The 1940 penny sometimes had a double exurgue line 1955 and 1956 farthings had thin rims on the reverse From 1954, British coinage no longer had Britt.Omn on it Some of the 1954 halfpennies had large border teeth I won't tell you about gold coins as I am not familiar with them. I hope this is what you are after and it helps. As mint_mark says, try to get that Collectors Coins book, it does have lots of different varieties in it. William
  22. Why do you keep changing it then? Btw, does my signature look ok?
  23. Ef?! Why did you buy that half guinea when you had an EF HAMMERED, ROUND groat on offer?
  24. I would grade it NVF/VF
