Marigold, In the US these are fetching a dollar a pop for your run-of-the-mill example, but if you really liked the looks of it then it's a good buy for you. Isn't coin collecting all about loving the coins you have? I have a Churchill that I really like--there's something about it (apart from it being mine) that makes it much nicer than every other one I have seen. And Churchill had quite a sense of humor too, something to recommend his crown!

I am looking for information on Edward III coinages. Spink's list L A Lawrence, "The Coinage of Edward III from 1351" for the fourth coinage, but give nothing earlier than that. So, first, does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Lawrence; and second, what are other references for Edward III coinages? This inquiry comes at hand of a coin I purchased yesterday evening after seeing it in the afternoon at a coin fair, so I do not have it with me at the moment (and won't until I get back from my upcoming travels). When I do get it I'll learn to use my digital camera and post it for everybody to help with attribution. It was marked by the dealer as an Edward IV half-groat which I doubt, it having a cross pattee mm and no tressure. Thanks, Edward
