    Few coins found with a detector are worth much more than scrap value - a few hoards over the year are always mind blowingly brilliant - but most single coins are in pretty dire straights

    Former world darts champion Ted Hankey has been jailed for two years for a sexual assault caught on camera.

    Hankey, 54, from Berry Hill, Stoke-on-Trent, pinned down the young woman and, with an "air of entitlement", sexually assaulted her, Chester Crown Court heard.

    He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to the attack on 10 September in Crewe.

    The darts player, nicknamed The Count, was the BDO world champion in 2000 and 2009.

    The court was previously told the victim was aged between 16 and 18.

    Hankey, a father-of-three, who had shown "more self-pity than remorse", dabbed away tears with a tissue as he was sentenced.

The ones after that were just stapled I think and were always different colours, light green, orange etc. Always an exciting moment when his latest one popped through the door! They were all chucked out after I went to University but the dates were ~1977-1983. I wish I 'd kept some for memory's sake. 

    He really went to town on the rarities,  I remember a 1685 Charles II tin farthing got about a page of write-up.

    You should have seen the write -up when he got hold of an oliver cromwell farthing

    Shame they got chucked out they seem in demand now.

    I would hazard a guess that he got out one every three months or so , annoyingly they are not dated spring- summer -autumn- winter and the year would have been a great way to start off every list , though you can work out aprox when they were produced by little clues in the text , I had number 47 which seemed to date 1977 spring I would guess with the jubilee references in it

    with a large geologist and a pile of rocks, and I couldn't believe how simple and capable this little car was.....

    I was a fan of Minis at the time, but the 4 was an eye-opener.

    BTW, I believe the blue color has been imparted to the surface by application of the product "MS 70" which when incompletely washed seems to do this to coin surfaces. I have seen some absolute rubbish about the solvent(s) in it removing overlying toning and revealing supposedly true colors beneath the toning. That IMHO is an absolute load of BS.

    Coins start of blue and turn brown/chocolate colour what BS
