  1. Hi John

I have a question for you:

I have a Silver Penny - One Penny Model.(1844) Struck in silver.21mm diameter

You can see a photo of it on the CGS site - UIN: 35319.

I believe it to be Freeman 799. Rarity R18

From my research they appears to be around 6 of these.

Do you know of it or have any information about it ?

    Regards

    Guy

I do know a little, forgive the following as I am typing as I recall from memory, I am bit tied up at the moment, Mother has just come back from the Hospital, fractured her wrist, and I have just started to cook for her, but hopefully a couple of leads until I can sit down and give you a bit more to go on.

Ebay, chap called Silverskippy bought most of Rogers coins when he sold off his model collections, he had examples of the silver issues, most helpful when I have discussed models with him previously

On this Forum a couple of members, one being CopperBronzeCollector, better know as Gary Schindler, had examples, also a current member has examples, so worth putting model penny into the Forum search bar and the previous posts/info should reveal itself, the silver examples have been discussed  along with PENNEY examples

There is another collector called ToyPlayMoney on Ebay, he wrote the book on Model Pennies, and it is available to download for a few pounds from a self publishing site

I will have a look through my files later this evening and hopefully provide you with a bit more info, but I think your 6 known is on the high side, probably closer to 3 or 4.
