Need Help Identifying A Coin

Hi,

Recently came across this coin when I purchased a coin lot. Having trouble identifying it. Can anyone assist?

Depending on its diameter it's a Bohemond VII 'Cross & Castle' Crusader Groat which is about 26/27mm. The legend around the castle reads CIVITAS TRIPOLIS SVRIE which is Trabli, now in Lebanon. The obverse, around the cross, reads +SEPTIMIVS BOEMVNDVS COMES. Circa 1278.

Whether it's genuine or not is a different question. The 'silver' looks a little suspect from the images, it is hard to tell.

Wow, you're good! I was going to make an 'educated guess' and say it looked to be a medieval Continental coin, possibly connected with the Knights Templar / Crusades.

Thanks for this - My coin weighs 7.2g and measures 24/25 mm across - Is 1mm to 2mm an acceptable variance?

Yes, a couple of mms isn't anything to be too concerned about.
