spiritwalker1277 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Can anyone offer any information as to how I ended up with a 1991 smooth edged five penc piece in my change? The edge of the coin is smooth like a 1p or 2p, not milled like other 5p's Quote
Mr T Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Is it well circulated? The milling will disappear as it is handled? It could be use of the wrong collar die but that would probably depend on what else the Royal Mint struck in that year that had the same diameter but a plain edge. This is unlikely though. Quote

But; to look at the coin in the palm of your hand, it looks just like any other 5p you would get in your change. Quote
