Master Jmd Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 On colin cooke's site, he lists obverse 1 and 2 for 1773 farthings...what are these different obverse types? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Obverse 1 was used exclusively from 1770-73. Obverse 2 was used 1774 and 1775.Peck says:Obv 2 differs from Obv 1 in that the nose is straighter, the eye lashes are accentuated, the lips are thinner, and the chin is more receeding. Quote
Master Jmd Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 ok, thanks chris...one other thing; can you tell me the peck numbers for the following farthings and tell me any die varieties if possible:1918192019311933193519371941194219431945194619471948194919501950 Proof19511951 Proof19521953 1A1953 1B1953 2B195419551956...sorry if it is a bit much to ask Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Bloody right it is. I'll PM you something. Quote
Master Jmd Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 Thanks Chris, much apprieciated Quote
Emperor Oli Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Why do you want the Peck numbers if you don't have a copy of the book? Quote
Master Jmd Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 so that i can put the Bmc numbers into my database of my owned coins but now, thanks to chris, i shouldn't need to bother about peck numbers Quote
Emperor Oli Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 I thought that but if you have no reference to look them up, what's the point in doing it? Quote
Chris Perkins Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 We are frequently puzzled by the behaviour of young Master JMD. Let's just leave him peacefully to his own devices! Quote
