bagerap Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I've not seen this particular piece before but it bears two "hallmarks" of the spangle or belly dancer's coin.First, the outer circle of dots, reminiscent of late C19th Tunisian coins and secondly the hole. The more regular the hole, the more likely it is to be dodgy. Can't make out the date, but it's usually given with an impossible Regnal year like 44. And no Ottoman coin features a star that I'm aware of. Quote
